My first chinchilla came into my life in 1998. Life took a long detour, but now I'm back—older, wiser, and even more in love with these fluffy little weirdos.
Over the years I've owned, fostered, and even bottle-raised several chins, including a tiny baby who came to me just a few days old after being rescued from a very unsafe situation. He grew strong, happy, and full of sass, and caring for him changed me forever. That is why Setareh Chinchillas exists today: to help chin parents feel informed, supported, and capable of giving their pets the best life possible.

Pippin
Pippin does not hand out five-star reviews lightly. In fact, for the first six months he lived here, his primary form of communication was barking whenever anyone dared approach his cage.
Because he is so unapologetically hard to please, Pippin is the ultimate taste-tester for our wellness blends. He cannot be bribed, and he will not settle for mediocre ingredients. If a new herbal topper manages to get past his strict quality control without a scowl, we know we have created an absolute masterpiece.
Mochi
If Pippin is the tough critic, Mochi is the absolute heart of the operation. He is the quintessential sweet, cuddly, and loving chinchilla that makes people fall head-over-heels in love with the species.
Mochi brings the warmth and the joy to Setareh Chinchillas. When the daily grind of running the shop and mixing wellness blends gets a little chaotic, Mochi is always there to demand cuddles and remind us exactly why we started doing this in the first place. He is the soft, adorable soul of the business.
