Ingredients & Safety
Simple, transparent, chin-safe ingredients only Chinchillas have extremely sensitive digestive systems, which is why every Pippin’s sprinkle is made with clean, minimal ingredients — no fillers, no fruits, no sugar, no artificial colors, and no mystery powders. If we wouldn’t give it to our own chin, we won’t offer it to yours. Our sprinkles are meant to be tiny enrichment boosts, not daily diet items or treat replacements. ⸻ ✅ What We Use Depending on the blend, you may find: ✔ Gentle Grains • Rolled oats • Groats • Barley flakes • Multi-grain cereal with no added sugar These provide mild energy without fruit sugars or sticky ingredients that can upset chin stomachs. ✔ Safe, Edible Herbs & Blossoms • Chamomile • Peppermint • Fennel • Dandelion • Raspberry leaf • Nettle • Lemon balm • Calendula • Hawthorn • Hibiscus • Marshmallow leaf • Rose hips …and more, depending on the blend These botanicals are chosen for digestion, enrichment scent, and safe foraging behavior. ✔ Trace Nutrition Sources • Tiny amounts of Clovite (for Power Mix) • Milk thistle seed (for Wellness & Vitality) • Cold-milled flax (for Happy Belly Blend) • Pure bee pollen (for Honey Dust) Used in very small, chin-appropriate quantities for appetite support and gentle wellness benefits. ⸻ ❌ What We Never Use • No raisins • No dried fruit • No sugar • No molasses • No honey-coated items • No yogurt drops • No corn syrup • No artificial colors • No fillers • No pellets or treats ground up to “disguise” ingredients Chinchillas don’t need junk food to be happy — and neither do their tummies. ⸻ ✅ Storage & Freshness • All blends are hand-mixed in small batches • Stored in airtight, food-safe containers • Blends with flax or wheat germ are refrigerated or frozen for maximum freshness • We never mass-produce or store long-term Freshness = fragrance, flavor, and safe quality. ⸻ ✅ How Much Can My Chin Have? Each product has its own serving suggestion, but in general: • A pinch goes a long way • Sprinkles are not a daily food • Start small and monitor poop and appetite • On sprinkle days, skip sugary treats When in doubt — less is better. ⸻ ✅ Safety Notes • Sprinkles are a wellness topper, not a treat, and not a substitute for hay or pellets • Always monitor stool and appetite with new foods • Not recommended during diarrhea, GI stasis, or major illness • Honey Dust is not recommended for chins with pollen allergies or respiratory sensitivity • Always consult an exotic veterinarian if your chin is ill Your chin’s health always comes first. ⸻ ✅ Ingredient Transparency Promise We will always: ✔ List ingredients clearly ✔ Keep blends minimal and safe ✔ Avoid gimmicks, sugar, and unnecessary additives ✔ Mix in small batches so you know it’s fresh Because Pippin deserved the best — and so does every chin. |
